BraeBurn Country Club, Inc. is a historic course, built in 1926, and is the former home of golf great and three-time Masters Champion, Jimmy Demaret (1936-1941). BraeBurn is an exclusive, member-owned, equity club.

In the tradition of 1926 era golf, our 18 holes include a park-like retreat, with rolling fairways, and widely scattered Live Oak and Cypress trees. We are situated on a beautiful, enclosed 150 acre tract, offering a unique and refreshing contrast to courses built around residential communities. This traditional layout and one of the city’s oldest courses, established in 1926, places a premium on shot placement off the tees. There are opportunities for long hitters to cut off some yardage but not without risk of posting a big number. BraeBurn is a true thinker’s course, originally designed by architect John Bredemus in 1926. In 1991, the course was redesigned by Carlton Gipson. Today the course’s dramatic elevation changes and rolling character – unexpected in a location so close in – have earned BraeBurn the distinction of being one of the few sites in Texas to be chosen to host both the US Open and US Amateur qualifying tournament in one year.

Our course boasts premium, state-of-the-art, playing conditions. BraeBurn’s golf features include two beautiful practice greens, double-sided driving range, an enhanced short game practice area, and a course boasting 18 holes of parkland style golf. Over the last 5 years, BraeBurn has invested in club improvements including bunker renovations with crushed granite, resurfacing of our tee boxes, fairways, greens, all new cart paths and 11 bridges spanning the original Brays Bayou that runs through the property. The course boasts gorgeous year-round premium playing conditions.

In addition to the excellence of our challenging course, both male and female members enjoy a wide variety of golf outings throughout the year. Ranging from the BraeBurn Club Championship to the Highland Swing, the Father/Child Tournament, and Junior Golf Camp and After School Programs, we promise to have something for everyone. As with every great golf club, BraeBurn’s overall looks is dominated by the beauty of its course. By design, the buildings are set at a distance from the front gate, allowing an unspoiled landscape uncommon in the midst of the city, and one that you and your guests will enjoy, time and time again. In fact, the first time you make the drive in from the front gate, don’t be surprised if you feel a bit like you’ve been transported to the country, right here so close to the city!
